Stephen Carrick Architects were recently commissioned by the Heritage Council of Western Australia to provide a brief report on the Huts located within the D’Entrecasteaux National Park.
The report was required as part of the scope of work to provide an assessment of the Huts, D’Entrecasteaux National Park for possible inclusion in the State Register of Heritage Places. The D’Entrecasteaux Hut group comprises:
Bolghinup Hut (c.1890)
Voutier Hut (c.1920/30)
East Hut (c.1920)
Coodamurrup Hut (c.1913); and
Crystal Springs Hut (c1930/40).
SCA undertook a three day visit to the National Park with assistance from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions to inspect the Huts.
The report will assist the Heritage Council of Western Australia to determine the heritage listing, condition and significance of the Huts.
