The site of the Quairading State School (fmr) is located on the eastern corner of McLennan and Charlton streets âTâ intersection, facing Charlton Street to the northwest.
On the night of 24 February 2016 the school building was set alight and burnt down with little of the original structure remaining intact. The building debris contained significant amounts of asbestos. Consequently, clean-up and remediation of the site was required.
The Shire and community representatives are currently working in association with Stephen Carrick Architects to devise an interpretation design scheme for the site that commemorates the history of the State School.
