Cue

In 2016, Stephen Carrick Architects and Suzanne Hunt Architect, Architects in Association, prepared a design scheme for the adaptive re-use of the former Cue Post Office and Public Buildings. The scheme accommodated a contemporary Community Resource Centre, Visitor Centre for tourist information, Cue Shire Library Service, Op Shop, Interpretation/Exhibition spaces, Multi-purpose space for social gatherings and offices.

Building works commenced in July of 2017 and were completed in November 2017. The project was awarded at the 2018 WA Heritage Awards in the following categories:

  • Adaptive Reuse of a State Registered Place; and
  • The Gerry Gauntlett Award for Excellence in Conservation or Adaptive Reuse.
