Holy Trinity Church

Roebourne

Stephen Carrick Architects assisted the Anglican Diocese of North West Australia with conservation works to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Roebourne from 2018- 2020.

The Church was constructed in 1895 and is the oldest church in the Pilbara district.

These conservation works were part funded by the Heritage Council of Western Australia’s Grant Progam and the National Trust of Western Australia’s Heritage Appeal.

Conservation works completed included:

  • Removal of intrusive repairs to the stonework and repointing;
  • Undertaking a petrographic report to determine an appropriate mortar mix and internal render;
  • Re-rendering the internal walls to the church using the render mix informed by the petrographic report;
  • Replacement of the mini-orb ceiling;
  • Restoration of the lead light windows and construction of custom steel shutters for window protection;
  • Reinstating the ceiling to the apse;
  • Integrating interior electrical;
  • New entry porch seating;
  • Painting of apse exterior and church interior;
  • Re-instating the ceiling; &
  • Repair of timber furnishings.
